"Something sacred is at stake in every moment" ~Abraham Heschel
Ah, yes the most impressive philosophy of photography. How many other photographers you checked out lately had a philosophy of photography? That's what we thought. Ha, now that we've gotten that out of our system, thanks for coming to check us out. If you've noticed this page is especially lacking in pictures for a photography website well, we want to keep your attention focused right here, and here and here because we're a bit pompous right now and think what we have to say is really important :)
Alright, let's get to the point. That quote above from Heschel, well it's near and dear to our hearts. For us, there really is something spectacular to life; we love to capture it, to embrace it, to reflect on those times that are worth holding onto. We have armfuls of pictures around the house and thousands more for us to quickly que up on our computers just to stimulate memories of friends, relatives, past events and emotions in our lives that might otherwise have faded away. The pictures that are kept, the ones that stand the test of time have deeply personal significance. I have a friend that only has one picture remaining of them and their father. Theres a reason we hold on to those moments, theres a deep personal value to images with the elapse of time.
Continuing on to our point, we take photographs because of you. We're really into this business because we love connecting and sharing our gifts with others, ha, there, you have it. As creative people, there is a whole lot that goes on in our minds to get images that we really enjoy and ultimately you will too. For us to truly capture great pictures, the ones that will connect with you personally, the ones that you can't wait to share with others, ones that will stay with you we need to mesh well. Thats actually why we never book any assignment without first consulting with y'all; we need to make sure that theres a good fit ant theres something there. Usually if you've gotten this far in our rambling then its worth you sending us an e-mail but if this really isn't for you, don't be shy, let us know. We know tons of other gifted photographers that we would be more than happy to put you in contact with.
Our photographs are really personal. Truly, are really are an extension of ourselves, and so, they tend to be a direct reflection of us individually and even us as a couple. We both bring something completely unique to the table, ha, thats probably one of the many reasons we love each other so much. In the end clients choose us not because we have the most unique lighting system although if you ask us its pretty rad. Nor do they choose us because we shoot with the most expensive cameras ... although we often want to enwrap ours in giant pillows :) No, our clients and many of our new found friends invite us into their lives to photograph simply because they, like us, love life and enjoy creative ways of remembering these fleeting moments.
Cheers,
PHILOSOPHY
